Based on WRI Aqueduct™ 4.0, Bangladesh scores as the third highest country in terms of drought risks. Aqueduct Country Ranking (wri.org) Looking at the global ranking for Riverine floods, Bangladesh comes in 4th. Interesting finding as we often think of Bangladesh as a flood prone rather than drought prone country. Droughts are less on the public radar but have equally disastrous effect on our societies, economies, and ecosystems. Its time to speak up about the importance of managing drought risk management.
