West Asia is experiencing increasing drought frequency and severity driven by climate change, water over-extraction, and rapid land use changes. Countries in West Asia are seeking effective monitoring, early warning, and resilience strategies.

Aligned with the mission of UNCCD Community of Learning and Practice (CLP) to foster regional learning and knowledge sharing, this webinar will bring together practitioners and scholars, and policymakers to share practical drought experiences and metrics across West Asia. The objectives of the webinar are as follows:

1.Facilitate learning and knowledge sharing on drought monitoring, metrics, and management, especially in West Asia.

2. Share experience and lessons from West Asia with other sub-regions and continents for boosting comparative knowledge.

3. Explore opportunities for regional cooperation and peer learning within the CLP framework.
