The webinar “Beyond Drought Crises: Building Proactive Risk Management in the Northern Mediterranean” was held on 23 March 2026 from 14:00 to 15:30 (CET), organized by UNCCD and GWP, and conducted in English. The event gathered 85 participants (37 female and 45 male), with a total of 147 registrants, and was facilitated by Pınar Canli from the Ministry of Environment and Urban Planning in Türkiye. The session featured expert presentations on drought monitoring and management from across the Northern Mediterranean, including speakers from Türkiye, Italy, Hungary, and Portugal: Dr. Muhammed Cem Akcapınar (TSMS), Elif Sürücü (General Directorate of Water Management, Türkiye), Dr. Stefano Mariani (ISPRA, Italy), Péter Molnár (Hungary), and Prof. Henrique Cerqueira (Portugal). The webinar aimed to share knowledge, tools, and best practices for advancing proactive drought risk management in the Northern Mediterranean region.
