-Supporting Vulnerable Nations Against Climate Challenges-

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) approved measures to enhance aid delivery for Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS). The Least Developed Countries Fund (LDCF) and Special Climate Change Fund (SCCF) backed a $100M program, highlighting successes in innovation and partnerships.

SIDS, like those affected by severe #droughts—such as recent water scarcity challenges in Greece—face heightened vulnerabilities. #Greece has experienced severe water scarcity challenges, impacting agriculture and local communities. Addressing these issues was one of the focal point at the recent UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) COP16 in Riyadh. Although the conference concluded without a legally binding agreement on global drought response, it marked a significant step towards international collaboration on drought resilience.
